Body recontouring is another aspect of my cosmetic surgery. It can range from patients who had massive weight loss, the patients that just have small fatty deposits on the hips or the thighs or the knees. The advent of the laser liposuction is something that has helped me in my practice. We turn patients back to work in a much quicker time period. Some patients who come to me and they have the misconception that liposuction or abdominoplasty is something that can be done in lieu of weight reduction, I either recommend for them dietitians and special dietary programs combined with exercises or in some of these extreme cases I recommend them to be consulted with the bariatric surgery group to see whether they might be a candidate for a gastric bypass or what we call a Lap Band or a gastric band type of surgery to help them loose the weight, so that then they would be a candidate to do these additional procedures.
